City of Ellijay

The majority of the buildings in the downtown district are one and two story brick structures from the mid-nineteenth through the mid-twentieth century.

According to 2000 Census, the City of Ellijay had a population of 1,584 persons. Between 1990 and 2000, the city experienced a population increase of 33.8%, compared to the state growth during this period of 26.4%.
